For most 2027 Volkswagen Taos owners, the real question is not which seat cover to buy but how many seats to cover. Our front-only seat cover set costs $279, and our full set costs $389, so the full set adds the rear seat for $110 more. The Taos is a five-seat compact SUV; its rear seats fold for cargo, and its front seats carry the heating, ventilation and power equipment.
Should You Buy Front-Only or Full-Set Seat Covers for a 2027 Volkswagen Taos?
Buy the front-only set if passengers rarely ride in back, and you seldom fold the rear seats. Buy the full set if people sit in the back every week or if you fold the rear seats often for cargo. The seat equipment that Volkswagen lists for the Taos sits in the front row, so a front-only seat cover set still covers the seats you use most.
2027 Volkswagen Taos Seat Cover Scorecard: Five Questions to Choose Between Front-Only and Full Set
Answer each question yes or no, and count your number of yeses for questions 1, 2 and 4. Zero or one yes points to the front-only set. Two or three point to the full set.
1. Do Passengers Sit on Your 2027 Volkswagen Taos Rear Seat Every Week?
Volkswagen's Taos page describes a five-seat compact SUV, and our full set lists coverage for five seats. If back-seat passengers are a weekly event, the rear seat takes the same everyday contact as the front ones. If the rear seat is mostly empty, a seat cover there adds little. Our guide to choosing a seat cover for your car helps you weigh the choice.
2. Do You Fold the 2027 Volkswagen Taos Rear Seats for Cargo?
Volkswagen advertises up to 65.9 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded, and 4Motion models, including the Taos SEL, list 60.2. A rear seat that folds regularly is a seat that sees luggage, bags and gear. If you fold it often, count a yes here. After installing a rear cover, fold each side once and return it upright to confirm that it still moves as before. Our guide to seat types and configurations for car seat covers helps you describe your rear seat if you ask our team.
3. Does Your 2027 Volkswagen Taos Have Heated or Ventilated Front Seats?
This check applies to both sets. Heated front seats come with the Taos SE and the trims above it, and the Taos SEL adds ventilated front seats. A cover adds a layer between you and a heater, so it can change how quickly warmth reaches you. Our perforated eco-leather is designed to keep that difference small, and a short test after installation confirms it. Any layer over a ventilated seat can affect airflow, so check the fans too. Our resource on whether seat covers are safe for heated seats has the details.
4. Do Kids or Pets Ride on Your 2027 Volkswagen Taos Rear Seat?
If children or pets ride in the back with you regularly, count a yes. Our notes on family-friendly seat covers for pets and kids apply to that use. If you use a child seat, check the child seat's manual before putting anything under it.
5. Does the $110 Gap Between 2027 Volkswagen Taos Seat Cover Sets Decide It?
The full set costs $389 and the front-only set costs $279, a $110 gap. A rear-only set also costs $279, so buying front-only and rear-only sets separately would cost $558, which is more than the full set. If the rear seat matters to you at all, the full set is the better value. If it does not, the front-only set saves $110. Our comparison of affordable versus high-end seat covers can help you set a budget.

How to Fit and Test 2027 Volkswagen Taos Seat Covers, Front and Rear
Follow the steps in our post on installation tips for vehicle seat covers, and read our seat cover installation FAQs if a step is unclear. Then test the equipment your Taos actually has: the heaters, the ventilation, the power driver seat, the seat belts and the rear seat fold. Function checks show that the features still work. They do not show that a cover is approved for your car, so read your owner's manual for airbag guidance too.
What Is in the Front-Only and Full Seat Cover Sets for the 2027 Volkswagen Taos?
Our full set has 2 front seat covers, 2 headrest covers and 1 back bench seat cover, and it costs $389. The front-only set costs $279. Both include a 3-year warranty. Our covers are perforated eco-leather with a diamond-quilted center panel, in seven colors: Black, Black & Grey, Wine Red, Beige, Black & Red, Black & White and Black & Blue.
